What is a 'Prefectural Advisor' (PA)?
Certain ALTs, CIRs and Japanese local government employees serve as Prefectural Advisors in each Host Prefecture. There are 3 PAs in Shiga: the ALT based in the prefectural Board of Education, the CIR based in the International Affairs Division, as well as the Japanese supervisor who coordinates the JET Programme with cities across the prefecture. The PA Team work to facilitate communication and understanding between the Contracting Organisation (CO) and JET Participant and can signpost appropriate support resources.
